It is that time of the year to give CHOCOLATE as a gift!! As women we LOVE holidays like this. To make that chocolate even more tempting, you can create this wonderful little box for gift giving. The ladies in my hostess club created one similar to this for Thanksgiving. Using the tutorial below, one can adapt this box to any occasion and incorporate almost any embellishment that you can imagine. Go grab a bag of Ghiradelli chocolate squares and dream!
.
.
- 1 piece of solid cs (3 11/16" x 8 1/2")
- 2 pieces of solid cs (2 1/2" x 2 1/2")
- 1 piece of Designer Series Paper (2 5/16" x 2 5/16")
- 1 piece of contrasting cs (7 1/2" x 5/8")
- Scallop punch
- Ticket corner punch
...
.
...
Step 1. Using the large piece of solid cs (1/3 of a full sheet), score at 2", 4", 6", and 8" as shown. Score again at 1" and 2" along the length of the cs.

..
Step 2. Cut out the pieces indicated with an X. The flaps for the bottom of the box should also be cut up to the first score line.
.
.
..
.
.
Step 3. Glue the small flap on the side to the opposite side to create the general shape of the box. Using Sticky Strip, tape the bottom flaps together as shown.
.
..
.
.
.
..
Step 4. Use your ticket corner punch on all four corners of the square pieces of solid cs as well as the designer paper. Adhere the designer paper to the solid cs and then adhere this to the top lid of your box as shown. DO NOT center this piece on the lid as this flap is smaller than the top of the box. Use the box to center the top. Adhere the other solid piece of cs to the bottom of the box.
.
.
.
..
.
.
Step 5. The contrasting piece of solid cs will be the belly band for the box. The best way to get a 'snug but not too tight fit' for this piece is to place 3 pieces of chocolate in the box before you start. Place the long strip on the box where you would like for it to be and just ease it around the box. DO NOT try to pre-score this piece as it needs to be a custom fit. Adhere the piece together at the back of the box with Sticky Strip.
.
..
.
Step 6. Your box is now ready to add a scallop punched design or any embellishment you would like. Finish it up and make it your own creation!
