I loved the box idea so much that I created an envelope box for some 3x3 cards and their envelopes. You can follow the tutorial below to create both the M&M holder from yesterday as well as the 3x3 card holder - just make the size of the solid cardstock 4-1/4" x 9-3/4" and score as noted below.
I know that you just want me to get on with the tutorial so here it goes....
Supplies:
- 4-1/4" x 7-1/2" piece of solid cardstock
- Taffeta Ribbon
- Crop-a-dile
- Designer Label Punch
- Sticky Strip
Directions:
Step 1: Score the solid cardstock at 1/2" on each long side. Score parallel to the short end at 2-1/2", 3", 5-1/2" and 6". Mark the short end at 1" up on both side (solid lines) and at the half point of the bottom (2-1/8") - note grid paper.
Step 2: Connect the points and cut off the pieces shown.
Step 3: Cut the side flaps and fold all scores.
Step 4: Punch holes in the box flap for the ribbon. Fold the box flat at the 3" score line and the 6" score line. Mark the hole placement on the underlying cardstock.
Step 5: Punch a notch out of the inside lip of the box with your Designer Label Punch so that you can reach into the box easier. Now punch the ribbon holes on this lip using the markings as a guide.
Step 6: Place Sticky Strip on both side flaps and adhere the box together.
Step 8: Feed the ribbon through the holes on the base of the box first, fill with candy and then feed through the flap of the box. Tie closed.
Variations: To create an envelope box that can hold 3x3 envelopes and their respective mini square envelopes, start with a piece of solid cardstock that is 4-1/4" x 9-3/4". Score the solid cardstock at 1/2" on each long side. Score parallel to the short end at 3-1/4", 4", 7-1/4" and 8". Mark the short score end at 1" up on both sides (solid lines) and at the half point of the bottom (2-1/8"). Continue with the same directions, starting at Step 2.
Be Inspired by Life,
As usual, I am including a pdf version of the tutorial HERE. Again, please do not change the original version if sharing with others - Thanks so much!
